Aha! Look who's made it to the Indian team.

Ganguly is back. Dada is back. Why? How? Wasnt he the man who was ousted off of the team very ungraciously? I can think of three possible reasons for why he is back:

1) His century at the Duleep trophy.
2) Dilip Vengsarkar is fond of him.
3) For want of a better player.

Did I hear someone shout OPTION 3?

thanks for stopping by at cricket et cetera.. at least that's what got me here...it's funny na..all these while i didn't know of your existence and now suddenly i also noticed you on omar's blog...

well, no.3 is the right reason indeed. dada definitely deserves a nod over the likes of raina, mongia, kaif, karthick the batsman... i am delighted

ananth, firstly, thank you for your comments on my blog ( My two cents ..) and for linking me to yours.
About the Zaheer Khan bit, the guy went on his own initiative to England, partly to get some cricket under his belt and partly to get some dough.. I will be damned if either the BCCI or the selectors of the captain had anything to do with him putting the hard yards in England. That said, it is heartening to see him back in the fray.
About the bounce, I think the Indians have had enuf time in South Africa to get used to the bounce. It is a pity they played first up in Durban, but neither Newlands nor Port Elizabeth were quite the terror tracks as speculated. The problem has been more to do with poor application and poor shot selection by the Indians.

about the mindset bit, when was the last time the "superstars" of Indian cricket played in the domestic season? and for what length of time? Almost all of them shy away from playing domestic cricket, citing the amount of international cricket being played and the need to unwind and relax.
